Colin Bennett

Colin Bennett, the 2006 Green Party
candidate for State Senate in the 33rd District, completes an outstanding slate of outspoken
candidates for the Green Party of Connecticut. He is running on a platform of environmental protection, education, and election reform. If elected Colin promises to do his best to ensure that every person in the 33rd District has a voice, not every corporation or special interest group.
Colin is a Justice of the Peace in Westbrook and has previously run for Board of Education
in Westbrook and for State Senate in the 33rd District.
Colin's community service includes the following: member of the Westbrook Forest Commission,
Marine Science Technician in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, founder and president of the
Great Land Conservation Trust, Inc., volunteer with the Westbrook Fire Department, teacher
at Saint Mary's School in New London, and advisor for the Saint Bernard High School
Environmental Club in Uncasville. Colin has a degree in Environmental Education from Southern
Connecticut State University and has received training from many environmental groups
including the Student Environmental Action Coalition, the Sierra Student Coalition, and The
Climate Campaign.
