The results are in

November 8th, 2005

Thanks to all who voted and supported my campaign, we managed to pull in a whopping 631 votes today. Alas, it was not enough to beat the Democrat, Willie, who pulled in 770 votes, but he did not win by much. And for a third-party candidate, with no major party backing, it is unheard of in our town.

To put it in perspective:
* We lost by a mere 139 votes.
* The Republican, Henry, only managed to pull 163 votes.
* We took 40.3% of the vote.
* The Dems managed 49.2% of the vote.
* We only lost by 8.9%.

So, while we may not have won, we did an incredible job and demonstrated to the town and the dominant political machine that WE WANT CHANGE. While I don’t know what lies ahead, I do know that the movement we’ve started doesn’t end here. I feel as though I have a few hundred new friends! Thank you for everything.

Our yard signs are here!

October 30th, 2005

Our yard signs are here.

Our yard signs arrived on Friday and, no doubt, you’ve seen them springing up all over the district. The momentum we have for this campaign is really amazing and I sincerely want to thank everyone who has contributed their time and energy to helping me get elected. We haven’t won yet, but we’re in the final stretch.

If you’d be interested in showing your support by planting a yard sign on your lawn for the next week and a half, please let me know.

Carusone takes note

October 27th, 2005

Looks like even former mayor John Carusone is taking our campaign seriously:

Other Democrats appear to be in solid positions except in the 5th District where Green Party candidate Kelly McCarthy looks to be a greater challenge to Democratic newcomer Willie Mewborn than Republican Henry Platt is.
