Clarification of the person to be our 5th CTGP representative to the GPUS. BAB is awaiting a response from Charlie Pillsbury.  He was the top write-in candidate at the April 28, 2012 CTGP Annual Meeting for this 5th position. Allan Brison emailed to BAB during this EC meeting, a personal email to him from Charlie Pillsbury, in which Charlie declined to accept his write-in election to be a CTGP representative to GPUS. Allan Brison was the 2nd highest write-in candidate for the CTGP election.  Allan as agreed to be our 5th rep. to the GPUS.

Discussion of the process for selection of CTGP members to the GPUS national committees. We are allotted a maximum of 3 CTGP members to each committee.  Consensus: a) any CTGP member who is interested in being a CTGP member on the national committee, is urged to attend the May 30, 2012 meeting so the SCC attendees have the opportunity to vet candidates and allow for question and answer period.  If candidates are unable to attend the May 30, 2012 meeting, they should be available via phone for SCC attendees to contact them.  CTGP expectations of these representatives: 1) at a minimum provide quarterly (i.e. three month) reports to the CTGP EC and SCC of what is happening on the committee(s) there are our representatives for; 2) report after every national committee meeting what is happening to the CTGP EC and SCC; 3) these reports are to be written and to be provided to the list serv. 4) SCC will try to improve communication with CTGP members of the national committees.  And CTGP national committee members will try to improve timely communication about national committee(s) in order to educate CTGP members about what is happening on the national level.  They are urged to communicate national committee: discussions, goals, votes, agenda and interactions with others.

The national committees are:

Discussion and clarification of the process to maximize success of our petitioning for the GPUS presidential candidate; volunteers for petitioning; coordination of efforts; and possible petitioning coordinator. Consensus: each CTGP chapter is urged to have a contact person to coordinate the petitions. DB and SMD volunteered to develop and provide a cover sheet of directions/tips for successful petitioning. SMD will interact with the GPUS Ballot Access national committee about potential volunteers and/or money to help with our presidential petition drive.  SMD to print out more petition forms. NOTE: petitions must be carried by CT registered voters. They DO NOT need to be registered with the CTGP.  Website for the GPUS is www.gp.org
