Stamford, CT – July 14 – In her final stop through Connecticut following appearances in New London and Waterford, Dr. Jill Stein, prospective presidential candidate with the Green Party, will speak at Stamford’s Innovation Center (located in the Old Town Hall building) on Thursday, July 21, 2016, 6:00-7:30 PM at a drive promoting her access to the ballot in Connecticut.

With contributions from individual supporters now increasing close to 1000 percent (according to U.S. Uncut) following Bernie Sanders’ declared endorsement of fellow Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, excitement over a candidate who has already embodied (or substantively exceeded) Sanders’ platform since 2012 has never been higher. Now that regional petition drives in New Jersey, New York and Stein’s home state of Massachusetts have succeeded in securing her place on their ballots, it’s time for Connecticut to take up the cause of genuine progressive reform in support of the one candidate who accepts no corporate contributions.

Unlike her competition, Stein, as a former physician, takes a uniquely inclusive approach to her platform, acknowledging how the successful roll-out of universal health care by expanding Medicare, ending police violence, the the drug war, mass incarceration and student debt, reversing economic austerity and a belligerent foreign policy are all interdependent, rather than isolated, issues.

Following her presentation and a question-and-answer session, numerous volunteers will be organized and mobilized in how to gather signatures from registered voters in the immediate vicinity and beyond.

The Stamford Innovation Center is located at 175 Atlantic Street in Stamford, CT.
